HP3 with GSO

Always fun to add a new HP film to my repertoire, and my first trip through HP3 was a treat, indeed. Several people said that this was their favorite film and score, and the hardest score too. I’d agree with all of that, for sure. Once again, I have to admire the author’s storytelling gifts as well as JW’s masterful scoring. And for this, we got to do a live choir as well – what fun!

“Rite” with the ASO and Dominic

The Adrian Symphony wrapped up our Stravinsky Festival with a great performance of “The Rite of Spring.” And Dominic Cheli returned and blew the audience away with Rach/Pag. Bravi tutti on this great season of amazing performances of all of Stravinsky’s major ballet suites. What a thrill!

HP#1 with the Huntsville Symphony

HP #1 holds a special place in my heart- where the adventure all began and where the musical identity of all 8 films was born. I’m in awe of John Williams gifts as a storyteller and how the music sets the vibe of the entire series. And that Quidditch music….wow!  A thrill to conduct, but also one that I always finish with both a smile and a sigh of relief. And three performances with the great musicians of the Huntsville Symphony to packed, packed houses made it that much more fun.

Sequoians’ season wraps with Time for Three and Tchaik

Always a pleasure to collaborate with these three wonderful musicians and wonderful people. Kevin Puts’ new concerto definitely deserved that Grammy – as did Tf3. And then the sensational Sequoians played the hearts out with an exciting and moving performance of Tchaikovsky 4th. What a finale!

HP #6 with the Florida Orchestra

Such a delight to work with the amazing musicians of the @thefloridaorchestra in Tampa for a couple of performances of Harry Potter 6. Great playing for a great movie and a wonderful packed hall. What a pleasure it was to work with this great orchestra!

Lots of “Elf”

What a pleasure to conduct “Elf” in concert in California, Boston, and North Carolina this holiday season. Wonderful orchestras in each place and a wonderful way to get ready for the holiday season!
