Three artists whose lives were cut short too soon. We open with Russell Peck’s fun work for string orchestra, “Signs of Life” influenced from everything from Mozart to the Beatles. We then hear music from perhaps the most unappreciated genius in music history, Felix Mendelssohn, in his popular violin concerto. Our soloist is a special, young dynamo who is currently taking the music world by storm. Our concert closes with the grand-daddy of them all, Mozart himself, in his dark and brooding Symphony No. 40. Every audience member will recognize the opening theme.
