What a way to start the season in Santa Cruz with a magnificent and moving performance of Beethoven’s 8th symphony. We don’t get to hear this piece often enough, and that was evident by the audiences’ warm response. And…speaking of the audience…record turn out! Ushers were so overwhelmed, we had to start 20 minutes late. Not ideal, I admit, but what a good problem to have!
